This weekend the husband and I are traveling 4 hours from home. While I was really excited about the trip we had planned, I loathe traveling while I'm doing my treatments. This week was relatively painless. I was sick on Wednesday and Thursday but feeling much better by Friday. So we left Friday afternoon on our trip. Everything was fine in the evening (I actually learned from our last trip & took my anti-neusea drug, Kytril, Friday evening).
So Saturday morning, I'm feeling like a rockstar. I took my medicine on Friday night and I haven't taken it on a Saturday in months. But after being awake for 2 hours, my stomach started to turn. Seriously body? I thought I took care of you already. So after eating a little, I popped my anti-nausea Kytril. Things kept going south so I had to excuse myself and take a nap. Luckily, the people we were staying with didn't seem to mind that I was napping. So after an hour and a half nap, I finally was feeling better.
We walked into Penn Station for lunch and although it made me sick the last time I ate there, I figured I could suck it up. The reason it made me sick was that I had it right after my treatment on Wednesday. I should have known better. I'm ruining all my favorite foods my eating them post-treatment. Anyway, we walked in the place and after 2 sniffs I had to ask everyone to find another place for lunch. Fantastic.
So the lessons learned: (1) traveling always upsets my stomach days after treatment (2) no more eating favorite foods post-treatment (3) taking Kytril when I'm traveling is fine and probably for the best.
Tomorrow we drive back home and although I'm out of Kyril, I think **fingers crossed** that I should be fine.
