Well, in case you haven't heard, our master closet is getting a makeover. My husband and I moved into the house and I decided that I wanted nothing more than to have a more custom closet. The builder closets are not big enough with their one wire shelf. So I originally bought a Rubbermaid closet organizer. While nice, it only was enough shelving for one of the three walls in the closet. It was functional but I had been meaning to buy and put up more shelving. As you can imagine, we got busy with medical stuff and I forgot about my dream closet.
Since I've been at the hospital, I have a social worker who has been on my case about getting a "wish" granted. I've always felt like I'm not sick enough for that. Or that we just don't need a wish. So 3 weeks ago my social worker came in and convinced me. She said it wasn't for people who were terminally ill, but for people who needed a pick-me-up... something to make them smile.
I told my social worker that I would love to have my closet finished. After 1 week, I got a call from Cincinnati Dreams Come True. As you can see, they typically deal with people under the age of 18 but I'm an exception since I'm getting treated at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. They arranged for me to have my closet professionally organized by a company called Closets and More!!!
I cannot tell you how excited I am!!!! They came out and showed me a sketch of the design. My new closet is going to be GORGEOUS. The old closet came down and I have spackled, sanded and painted the closet. I'm so ready for this! I took some before pictures which are below (and of course the after pictures). The guy is coming out next Tuesday!
I would have had it done next Monday but I'm having a procedure next Monday. Here's hoping that goes well enough for me to enjoy moving things into the new closet next Tuesday!
