Sometimes I think I am so witty coming up with these blog post titles! 162 is the dollar equivalent of one day's dose for my medication. Today my first shipment came in the mail for 30 days. It really is quite nice that someone (Bayer) is being generous and paying for these.
Side effects so far are mild. I notice that my stomach is sensitive in the few hours after taking the pills to dairy. It passes pretty quickly. I've been experimenting to see what kind of foods I can eat. During the day, I can eat whatever I want. At night I have to be careful with dairy and spicy foods. The pamphlet said to avoid caffeine but I don't seem to have an issue with that yet.
The rash is BY FAR the worst side effect. I am so incredibly itchy all the time. The rash fades as the day goes on and by night it's actually manageable. In the morning I wake up and look like I have an allergic reaction to life! I can deal with the itchiness. I'm hoping I can avoid hand-foot syndrome and just deal with the rash.
Thanks to everyone who's been saying prayers or sending positive thoughts my way. I believe that God will hear the prayers and make me strong enough to kick this for good.
