$812 to be exact. YIKES!!! That was for 5 days' worth of pills. In good news I had very minor side effects to the drugs this weekend. The key words there are this weekend. Today is a completely different story. This morning around 9AM the lady from the REACH (Nexavar assistance program) called me to say that I was approved for their program. They would be paying 100% for my drugs for 1 year. (YAAAAYY!!!) The title of this post says it all. Free is better than being broke. What a relief! In other news, Caremark came back around 1PM today to say that they were still denying me for coverage. A-holes. I'm glad we have a back-up plan in place. When the drug starts to work, I want to send them a letter telling them what I think!
Secondly, I apparently am with the 60% of people who take the drug who get a rash. I'm with the 20% of the 60% who get a rash that itches. The doctor wanted to reduce my dosage. I said no. They got a second opinion and they agreed that I could just manage the side effects. Here is my itchy rash post-shower this morning. Face & chest
How appropriate that the sun would finally come out on a day like today. It really is a good and blessed day :)
