Information Overload

Well, I was officially suffering from information overload but I'm coming down and starting to get my head in the right place. Only a few more days and I get to go to Memorial Sloan-Kettering. I'm thrilled to talk to those doctors and hope that everything comes together. I'm staying on the methotrexate/vinblastine until I see the doctor.

I also decided that I'm going to see a doctor at MD Anderson. I was talking to another fellow desmoid tumor patient and she said something that really hit home. She said:
"I think getting a second (and even third or fourth) opinion is so important, especially with a disease that most doctors do not have a lot of experience treating".
Getting other opinions is difficult, a huge time constraint and the doctors actually get upset when you do it. I get the feeling they don't want to lose their patient with the rare disease.

Wish me luck!
