Ok, I completely forgot why I started my last blog post! I wanted to get input on two things I'm getting excited about!
Last Day Celebration
I've been going to the hospital for over a year now. Seriously, last St Patty's day was my first visit with my oncologist. So on the last day <which is rapidly approaching!> I want to do something for the care givers there. I honestly feel like I have a friends when I go there. So I was thinking of making a cake and bringing balloons but that just doesn't seem like enough. What should I do? I want to make it special for me and for them.
Dead Fred Party
My friend named my now-dead-tumor Fred. We kept joking about how we needed to kill Fred. Needless to say, it stuck. So this summer when I am feeling more energetic, and less like I need to nap, I will be having a Dead Fred party. We'll probably have it at a park with cookout food. In addition, I want to have a corn hole tourney. People will be asked to donate money to play in the tourney, and all proceeds will be going to the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation. There is still so much they don't know about this disease/tumor. I'm passionate about helping them and helping the foundation. So I need help with 2 things! (1) I'd love for someone to help design a "Dead Fred" mascot (2) I'm looking for a way to do online giving - any ideas? And when we do announce the date, I really hope you can make it whoever you are!
Maybe you can do some sort of small craft for them? I know the ladies at the front are always loving your crafting stories!!! Maybe something easy like pillows?
