Here are the sequence of events from the recent weeks that to this exciting day.
- I had 6 long weeks that I was stuck in a sling. Oh the sling was horrible so I was so happy when they told me I could get rid of it.
- Then I spent 12 very long weeks in a brace. While this was much much better it still meant I had many restrictions. No running and limited use of my arm for basic activities.
- On week 12 they told me my bone was "cupping" and starting to heal.
- On week 15, I had a spill on my way into work (this was last Friday). I'm so clumsy that I surprise myself. I got my heel of my shoe caught in the sidewalk crack and tripped and fell. I landed straight on my arm. I ended up getting x-rays
The only real damage I did in the fall was possibly bruise my bone. My arm is a little swollen but its a nice change of pace to be free. Every time I bump into something or fall I do worry about my dead friend Fred.
I was talking to the doctor about getting my left arm back into shape. I hate physical therapy because I associate it with the tumor being agitated and the tumor growing. The doctor agreed with me about therapy this time. He said sometimes the therapists bend and agitate the arm. I was pleased he agreed with me so although my arm is stiff and swollen I'm going to do stretches on my own. Yay.
I'm also excited because my family and I are going to Philly for the DTRF Annual Patient Symposium. I'm excited to meet other people like me!
