Results are in

Let's get right down to the results! The bone the tumor ate is finally showing signs of healing. It's this thing called "cupping". Basically the bone is growing a connector from the top of the broken bone to the bottom of the broken bone. In addition, the bone is starting to fill in a bit. The tumor doctors also came in and said the tumor is stable. No shrinking but no growth -- it looks about the same as a year ago when I started treatment. That friends, is all good news.

My bone doctor really had zero... bedside manners. He came in and spent less than 5 minutes with me and my husband. I had questions and he left without answering them. Then the tumor doctor came in and reviewed the MRI scans with me. That went much better. He actually lets me ask questions and once I'm done he waits in silence until I've had time to process everything. He makes sure all my questions are answered before he leaves. Seriously, he's a great doctor. From a technical prospective, they are both really good, but I prefer my oncologist.

The good news about today:  everything went really smoothly. I made strawberry lemonade and the shoes I ordered online came in the mail. A++ for the day!

  1. YAY!!! I'm so glad you got good news! I've been thinking about you and how you've been doing. We should celebrate over lunch at Sima in the near future. :)
