Medical Update?

Are you wondering about my arm? How the heck I'm dealing with the broken arm. Well, it's been 5 weeks now since I've been in the sling. 1 more week to go until my next x-ray. I hate wearing the sling and can't wait to get out of it. Since my sling is black, I've been wearing lots of black shirts so it blends in.

I'm trying to set expectations for myself. I thought the bone broke because it was weak and the dog took off after a squirrel. My fab doctor said the bone was getting weaker and weaker (even while on the Zometa!) and that it probably forced the break in the bone. That is why I didn't actually feel it break. It was a slow and steady process. So expectations for next Wednesday? It might show no signs of healing. I may have a broken arm for my whole life. I may need some kind of procedure to fix it (not surgery).

On the plus side, it might show signs of healing. Chemo stops your body from growing things. So now that I'm off chemo, the bone might have a chance to grow again. It might take awhile. It might take months. It might be healed in the 6-8 weeks. I have to be patient and see if my body will heal what is broken. Common little body healers - you can do it!!
